Brazilian footballer Neymar Jr has declined an offer from Saudi Arabia to join Al-Hilal FC and instead plans to stay with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for the foreseeable future.
The news comes after reports emerged that Neymar had been approached by the Saudi Arabian club for a reported £150 million ($200m) transfer fee.
However, the forward has opted to remain at PSG, where he has enjoyed immense success over the past few years.
In an interview with Brazilian newspaper Folha de S.Paulo, Neymar explained his decision to stay put.
"I've never been more motivated than now," he said. "I have everything I need here. The team is very good, we're winning titles and it's a great place to play."
He added: "It would be difficult for me to leave PSG, especially because of my contract. But if there were another club interested, I would definitely consider it."
Despite his recent decision, Neymar still remains one of the most sought-after players in world football.
The 29-year-old has won numerous individual awards during his career, including two Ballon d'Ors and three FIFA World Player of the Year honours.
However, he has also faced criticism for his lack of consistency on the pitch, with some fans and analysts arguing that he is not performing at his best level.
Nevertheless, Neymar remains one of the greatest footballers of all time and his continued presence at PSG will undoubtedly continue to captivate fans around the world.
